Although grassroots innovations in Iran have existed in various forms and at different times and places with varying degrees of success, their isolated nature has prevented the benefits and opportunities arising from these innovations from being accessible on a national level. One of the most significant challenges, similar to many other scientific policies in the country, is their fragmented nature, as each operates differently depending on the location and time of implementation. Therefore, it seems that creating a network among these isolated efforts could significantly enhance the efficiency of innovations. Guiding and supporting innovations without discriminating among the actors involved are two crucial pillars of grassroots innovation worldwide, which appear to hold even greater importance in Iran. To coordinate guidance and unify support, there is no alternative but to build networks and move away from isolated actions.

Networking offers two positive outcomes for grassroots innovations: First, no actions will be taken in isolation or secrecy, without the knowledge of other sectors. Second, networking facilitates support, and the feedback from that support—whether positive or negative—will be shared as lessons, both defensible and critique-worthy, with other actors, allowing the best practices to emerge through experience gained from previous efforts. This network provides a platform for identifying, synergizing, and facilitating the process of grassroots innovations in the country. It aims to introduce to the public all innovative ideas and activities used to solve local problems. In this innovation process, all people can demonstrate their creativity in solving local issues with the simplest tools. This innovation can bring dynamism, mobility, and vitality to the community. The network connects grassroots innovators with each other, society, the government, and key players in the innovation field. The grassroots innovation network, as a facilitator, seeks to centralize the scattered grassroots innovations across the country into a network, creating a new wave of innovation and creativity in society.
